27yr Old Man arrested for duping hospital patients in Lafia


A man who specializes in duping patients and visitors under the pretence of buying prescribed drugs for his sick relation at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia was Friday arrested by the security men of the hospital.
A 27 year-old, who gave his name as Ahmadu Musa confessed that he has been into the business for over a year after being dismissed from a company in Asaba, Delta state to enable him survive.
According to him, “I realize not less than N1, 500 each time I go out to cajole people that I have a relation in the hospital who is in need of blood.”

Saturday Vanguard gathered that luck ran out of the dupe when one of his victims at the Administrative department of the hospital demanded to see the acclaim patient said to have been admitted in the hospital for several months before he took to his heels.
He was thereafter arrested few distances away from the main entrance when his last victim raised alarm thereby drawing the attention of the security officers on duty at the hospital main gate.
Ahmadu, however, pleaded with the hospital management for forgiveness, promising not to repeat the act.
Our correspondent who visited the hospital report that the suspect was under detention at the security unit for further directives by the hospital authorities.
Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Ashiku could not be reached for comments on the incident as he was said to have traveled out for an official assignment.
